Trudno pisać o historii Jordanii, bo tak na prawdę państwowość tego terenu opiera sztucznym ustaleniu granic po II wojnie światowej przez protektorat brytyjski. Nie było tu (podobnie jak na całym półwyspie) ustaleń ze względu na tereny historyczne lub plemienne a raczej za pomocą linijki i pertraktacji politycznych z Ligą Narodów. Historia państwa zaczyna się więc od objęcia protektoratu Wielkiej Brytanii w 1923 r. i w 1946 uzyskania niepodległości i utworzenia Królestwa Transjordanii (Królestwo Haszymidzkie) rządzone przez Abd Allaha ibn Husajna. Współczesna historia państwa obfitowała w konflikty z Palestyńczykami, Izraelem. Obecnie po przejęciu rządów przez króla Abd Allaha Jordania nie jest w konflikcie z Izraelem, podpisała umowy międzynarodowe z USA i stowarzyszyła się z UE chcąc być państwem otwartym i przyjaznym dla turystów. Przybliżając Wam historię raczej skoncentruję się na regonie a nie na terytorium określonym granicami.
Ryty naskalne pierwszych mieszkańców

Historia osadnictwa na tym terenie sięga paleolitu, czasów wielkich migracji ludności o czym mogą świadczyć ryty naskalne w pustynnych kanionach. Odnaleziono tu również ślady bytności wczesnych hominidów (sprzed 200 tyś lat), którzy migrując skupiali się wokół Jordanu i okolicznych jezior, które były na tym terenie. Na wschodniej pustyni w osadzie odkryto najstarsze na świecie dowody wypieku chleba kultury Natufian ( sprzed 14500 lat), a w Ain Ghazal (leżącym dziś w Ammanie), najstarszym mieście na bliskim wschodzie, odkryto wiele rzeźb ludzkich postaci, datowanych na około 7250 r p.n.e. (uznawane dziś za najstarsze w dziejach ludzkości). Pierwsze osady powstały tu już 10000-4500 lat p.n.e., a pierwsze miasta lokowano około XIII w p.n.e. w związku z wydobyciem miedzi i rolniczymi terenami wokół zbiorników wodnych. Egipcjanie kontrolowali brzegi Jordanu a po ich wycofaniu zasiedlały je semickie plemiona Ammonitów, Edomitów i Moabitów, którzy utworzyli plemienne królestwa walczące z hebrajskimi królestwami Izraela .

Z okresu walk o wpływy na tym terenie pochodzi stella Moabskiego króla Meshy, która opisuje jego osiągnięcia i wojny i jest jednocześnie dowodem, odzwierciedleniem części opisów biblijnych. Do początków panowania rzymskiego dominację na Lewancie przejmowali Persowie, Babilończycy. Tereny podbił Aleksander Wielki i tak na prawdę od tego okresu miejscowa ludność zasymilowała się z napływowymi, wspomagając ich w walkach z plemionami i państwem Judy. Po śmierci Aleksandra Wielkiego część terenów zajęta została przez arabskie plemiona Nabatejczyków , którzy w 169 r. p.n.e. utworzyli Królestwo Petry i zgromadzili fortunę kontrolując szlaki handlowe między wschodem i zachodem i dzięki skomplikowanemu systemowi nawadniania rozwinęli rolnictwo. To właśnie oni w wąwozie wybudowali jeden z cudów świata, symbol Jordanii Al-Khazneh (prawdopodobnie grobowiec, mauzoleum króla Aretasa IV). Do dzisiaj w Petrze zachowały się wspaniałe grobowce, świątynie ( ale o tym w jednym z kolejnych odcinków).

Upadek Petry spowodowało otwarcie morskich szlaków handlowych, które to zubożyło Nabatejczyków .Silne trzęsienie ziemi z roku 363 n.e. doprowadziło do wyludnienia tego wspaniałego miasta. Do jej ponownego odkrycia, wiedzieli o niej tylko mieszkający tam Beduini, którzy poszukując wielkiego skarby Nabatejczyków praktycznie zatarli ślady ich istnienia.
Czasy rzymskie spowodowały dalszy rozkwit tego regionu. Rzymianie wybudowali , do dziś wspaniale zachowane, miasto Jarash (Gerasa), Amman (Filadelfia) i odbudowali Autostradę Królewską Via Traiana Nova komunikującą tereny Lewantu. Rzymianie po podziale cesarstwa (Bizancjum) i przyjęciu chrześcijaństwa przez Konstantyna, w 390 r ogłosili chrześcijaństwo jako religię państwową i w szybkim tempie rozpoczęli budowę kościołów. I tu nowa niespodzianka, kolejny najstarszy obiekt historyczny Kościół w Akabie datowany na 293-303 uznawany jest za najstarszą świątynię chrześcijańską. Powstały też kościoły w rejonie Umm ar-Rasas. To aż 15 świątyni z ogromną ilością świetnie zachowanych mozaik bizantyjskich.

Panowanie Imperium bizantyjskiego zakończyło się w 636 r. i rozpoczęła era islamskiego panowania Umajjadów, którzy umocnili granice twierdzami Qasr Al-Mshatta i Qasr Al-Hallabat potem Abbasydów i Fatymidów. Trajsordania w zwiąski z szybkim rozwojem handlu morskiego i trudnościami zaopatrzenia w wodę zaczęła tracić na znaczeniu i podupadać. W 1115 - 1187 władzę przejęło Królestwo Jerozolimy. Krzyżowcy wybudowali zamek w Al-Karak i Montrealu. Po przegranej Królestwa Jerozolimskiego z Saladynem zasiedlający te tereny Arabowie odbudowali stare zamki i pobudowali nowe twierdze ( zamek Ajloun) strzegące granic i zapewniające bezpieczeństwie pielgrzymom do Mekki i Jerozolimy. Po zakończeniu panowania rodu Saladyna Transjordanię przejęli Mamelukowie a w 1516 r. weszła w skład terytorium Imperium Osmańskiego.
Traktowana po macoszemu Transjordania popadła w anarchię i wieloletnie walki plemion arabskich o dominację. Taki stan trwał do praktycznie do początków XX w. kiedy Wielka Brytania objęła Lewant swoim nadzorem.

Wszystkich którzy spodziewał się pasjonującego artykułu, relacji z podróży, gorąco przepraszam. Choć przynudziłem historią, to jednak chciałem Was wprowadzić w piękną i bogatą historię tego rejonu, która ( w trakcie przygotowania wycieczki) bardzo mnie zaskoczyła. Nie zdawałem sobie sprawy ile cudownych miejsc i wspaniałych zabytków można zobaczyć tym małym, a jak wielkim państwie. Do wyjazdu Jordania kojarzyła mi się z Petrą - dzisiaj Petra, to tylko jedno z najciekawszych miejsc Królestwa Haszymidzkiego. Kilka z tych miejsc szczegółowo opiszę w kolejnych artykułach o Jordanii.

OdpowiedzUsuńZazdroszczę, choć byłam w Jordanii 3 lata temu! Mega urzekające zabytki i przede wszystkim widoki tak niecodzienne dla mieszkańców Polski, bajecznie tam jest. Oczywiście, jeśli ktoś lubi tego typu podróże, bo oczywiście różni się ona trochę od Grecji czy tym podobnych :)
